The Department of Physiology at AIIMS Patna, under the able leadership of the visionary Executive Director, Prof. G. K. Pal has reached newer heights and has redefined education and training in the field of physiology and established a new role of physiologists in the society by starting DM course in Clinical and Interventional Physiology, a first of its kind of course in the global arena. The Department houses more than 12 clinical patient care as well research labs in the department catering more than 5-7 thousands of patients every year. There are 14 teaching faculties, 8 Senior Residents/year and 7 MD Residents/year. The Department provides patient care services in Yoga Therapy, Student Counselling and patient investigations for infertility treatment, Sleep Disorders, Neuro Diagnostics Services such as EEG, EMG, IONM and Evoked Potentials, Autonomic Function Investigations such as CAFT & HRV, Cardiovascular Investigations such as Echocardiography, Color Doppler, Treadmill, Tilt Table, Cardiac Output Monitoring, Blood Pressure Variability including Baroreflex Sensitivity. The department has established its standing as one of the best in the country in providing teaching, training, research investigations and patient services of highest order of global standards.
